Kaija Aarikka designed the round red elf by candlelight one winter´s evening over 30 years ago. Since then the jolly Tonttu family has acquired new members every year. During the festive season an elf may be spotted swinging from a Christmas tree, adding cheer to the Christmas dinner table or keeping a friendly watch over excited children.
